Lucknow Fashion Diary (LFD) has given form to an idea erstwhile in the mind. We have provided a worldwide platform to the chikankari industry. We brought together local artisans especially women dwelling in the streets of Lucknow who are dexterous in the chikankari work to enable them to give their work a national and international footing and provide them a sustainable source of income throughout the year. The chikankari industry is usually seen as a seasonal one as chikan clothes are worn in summer. This makes the artisans seasonally employed. By giving the industry a worldwide platform, we propose to change that LFD seeks to establish its standing among the many traders of the product while preserving the unique objectives with which it started.
